UK companies selling to customers in the EU will continue to be bound by EU consumer protection laws such as the Consumer Rights Directive and the Unfair Contract Terms Directive.
In a bid to secure consumer rights on 12 Feb 2018, the UK government confirmed in response to the House of Lords EU Committee that: "the Government is fully committed to securing the very best possible deal for consumers. Our aim is that UK consumers can continue to buy with confidence from traders in the EU and vice versa.”
